While most of the more notorious thrash metal bands from the late 80's came out of Los Angeles or the Bay Area, NUCLEAR ASSAULT held it down pretty hard on the East Coast alongside other NYC thrash acts ANTHRAX and OVERKILL. Interestingly, in an eerily similar Hetfield/Mustaine turn of events, NUCLEAR ASSAULT founding member and bassist Danny Lilker first formed the band after being ousted from ANTHRAX after playing on their first album.
Peep the vid for "Brainwashed" below off of 1988's "Survive". It's one of the few old school thrash vids to showcase some heady throwback footage of New York City in the late 80s.
