Rat Island

“Rat Island” a 2 ½ acre hunk of rock off the coast of the Bronx, was purchased Sunday at an auction for $160,000. The island boasts a rat population of exactly zero, and besides the legend that it was used as a base for typhoid victims in the 19th century, seems to have no other use than a small rock to get drunk on. Which, actually, isn’t that bad of an island.
